Bell Goes Above and Beyond to Lift Up North Texas and Quebec Communities
In a world impacted by the financial and safety complications of COVID-19, Bell employees continue to lend time, money and resources to lift up our local communities. We’re always ready to give back to charity organizations and small businesses that have supported Bell’s mission since the beginning. But lately, our teams have gone above and beyond to support these local individuals and charities. Through many tales of humble and thoughtful actions, our employees share how they carry Bell values out of the workplace and into the world.
On a rainy Friday morning in North Texas, local community organization, 6Stones, had already sent cancelations to volunteers for their Community Powered Revitalization (CPR) spring effort. But Bell’s V-22 program team that elected to volunteer this morning was determined to carry out this commitment, rain or shine. Bell has supported this organization for over eight years on many endeavors, most recently with their Community Powered Revitalization (CPR) spring effort. This initiative is geared toward assisting homeowners incapable of making necessary home repairs. Bell’s volunteers eagerly stepped in and got the job done.
"This was a great opportunity for the V-22 Team to come together and give back to our local community by revitalizing a homeowner's yard and giving the outside of her home a fresh coat of paint,” said Kurt Fuller, vice president and program director of V-22 Program. “Her smile of joy and appreciation more than made up for the rain-soaked hours of clean-up during the first day."
But North Texas isn’t the only region impacted by our teams’ generous actions. This past Earth Day, employees from Bell’s Commercial Assembly and Delivery Centre in Mirabel, Canada set out on a street-cleaning initiative. While our teams are dedicated to exploring and refining propulsion technology as part of the country’s Coalition for Greener Aircraft, they show their love for the planet outside of the office as well.
At our Amarillo Assembly Center, Maegen Whitney from our Supply Chain team stepped up to lead Bell’s involvement in FILL WITH HOPE; a Canyon-based non-profit formerly known as Snack Pack 4 Kids Canyon. For the past three years, Bell employees and their families have volunteered at FILL WITH HOPE by packing “Hope-Totes” filled with nutritious snacks – occasionally filling up to 100 bags per volunteer session! Many of these kids would not eat from lunch at school on Friday until breakfast at school on Monday without FILL WITH HOPE.
“The fact that Bell cares to be involved in community endeavors, such as FILL WITH HOPE, makes me proud to work for this company,” said Maegen. “Bell isn’t just a large corporation that landed in this community and doesn’t give back. Bell cares!”
Our employees’ willingness to lift each other up spreads beyond our office camaraderie and into our neighborhoods. This caring spirit strengthens our company and empowers us to deliver innovative solutions to our customers and build a better world.
