Bell 407GXP Assists in Ecuador Recovery Efforts

There is no time to waste when lives are on the line. Every day customers and independent representatives of Bell Helicopter rely on our superior products to help them fight to save precious lives and this past April, our Bell 407GXP was put to the ultimate test.

After a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the central coast of Ecuador, lives were left in shambles. According to news reports, the death toll of people killed in the quake soared to nearly 660 people with 12,500 injured and the hearts and homes of thousands of families torn apart.

In light of these tragic events, a group of friends, community players, local and foreign business owners formed the Ecuador Earthquake Recovery Fund and sprung into action.   

“Even though our business in the City of Quito was fortunately not affected by the destruction, we knew the situation for hundreds of thousands on the Ecuadorian coast was very different,” said Diego Ribadeneira, president of GrupoAries, an independent representative of Bell Helicopter. “The truth is the full extent of damage remains unclear to this day, but what remained clear was that Ecuador needed our help.”
