Bell is proud to have been selected for a research and development project in collaboration with CMC Electronics to develop systems to enable autonomous hybrid electric powered logistics missions. On April 21, Pierre Fitzgibbon, Québec’s Minister of Economy, Innovation and Energy, announced $113 million in support for Québec’s aerospace sector during Aéro Montréal’s annual general meeting, held at École nationale d'Aérotechnique and attended by more than 200 industry stakeholders.
These major investments are designed to promote the development of new technologies and sustainable mobility in Québec’s aerospace sector. The support includes $95 million allocated to the Coalition for Greener Aircraft (SA²GE) for four mobilization projects, including a project from Bell Textron Canada Limited and CMC Electronics.
These funds from the Government of Québec will enable Bell’s research and development workforce to make advancements in vertical lift, including the development of a portfolio of technologies to address energy efficiency, air traffic management systems compatibility and safety and regulatory issues for future project and services, including autonomous systems. Bell will leverage the project to further explore autonomy, advanced flight controls, electric propulsion, and noise reduction.
The Coalition for Greener Aircraft (SA²GE) will contribute to Quebec’s transition to a greener economy by 2050, to the fight against climate change, and to support a future that offers greater accessibility to products and services, including in remote areas. It will also contribute to the development of new engineering and manufacturing talent that will be necessary for the future of Quebec's aerospace sector.

About Bell
