Air Methods Signs to Purchase Three Bell 407GXis and Accepts Delivery of One Bell 429 to Air Medical Fleet
Omaha, Nebraska (October 31, 2025) – Bell Textron Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, hosted a special signing ceremony during the Air Medical Transport Conference (AMTC) with Air Methods announcing the signed purchase agreement for three Bell 407GXis to to be added to their fleet along with celebrating a recently accepted delivery of a Bell 429, further expanding their air medical capabilities. This announcement comes on the heels of an announcement made earlier this year at VAI Verticon with Air Methods signing a Master Purchasing Agreement for up to 27 aircraft.
“Bell is proud to serve as a trusted company and helicopter provider to Air Methods with the continued expansion of their Bell fleet,” said Lane Evans, managing director for North America Sales. “The technology and performance capabilities of these aircraft are unmatched, and we look forward to continue supporting their life saving mission for years to come.”
With nearly 300 bases serving 47 states, Air Methods transports more than 100,000 patients every year, clocking over 150,000 flight hours. With the addition of their newly acquired Bell 429 and upon the future addition of the Bell 407GXis, they anticipate a decrease in response times, allowing them to better support the communities they serve.
“Adding these aircraft to our fleet reinforces our commitment to our patients and delivering lifesaving care to them when minutes matter most,” said Air Methods CEO Rob Hamilton. “They represent the core of our 399-aircraft fleet, and we look forward to continuing to build on that foundation.”
Delivering impressive performance and fuel efficiency with the ability to cruise at 133 kts (246 km/h), the Bell 407GXi remains one of the top platforms for air medical agencies located throughout the world. With single-pilot IFR capability and adjustable cabin space, the Bell 407GXi allows operators to perform in demanding environments while carrying essential medical equipment needed during emergency missions.
As a platform built for rapid response, the Bell 429’s BasixPro intuitive displays, satellite-based guidance system, and wide clamshell doors makes it an aircraft of choice for public safety agencies across the region. This dual-engine aircraft allows users to complete critical public safety missions with ease, such as search-and-rescue operations in hard-to-reach locations. With more than 500 Bell 429s in its global fleet, the platform holds a reputation as one of the most advanced light twin helicopters in its class.
Air Methods is the leading air medical service, delivering lifesaving care to more than 100,000 people every year. With 45 years of experience, Air Methods is the preferred partner for hospitals and one of the largest community-based providers of air medical services. Air Methods Ascend is the company’s clinical education program, allowing critical care nurses and paramedics best-in-class training opportunities using high-fidelity mannequins, virtual reality, and cadaver labs.
