At the fourth annual Soldiers to Sidelines Legacy of Leadership event, President and CEO Lisa Atherton was recognized as a “Business Leader” designee, highlighting her dedicated work in serving the military community and advocating for veterans through her work at Bell.
“A trailblazer with a compassionate heart, Lisa’s leadership is a testament to the power of empathy, tenacity and a relentless drive to uplift others. We [were] honored to celebrate Lisa’s remarkable journey and her unwavering commitment to making a difference at this year’s Legacy of Leadership Dinner,” said Harrison Bernstein, president and founder, Soldiers to Sidelines.
As a nonprofit organization dedicated to the betterment of the military community, Soldiers to Sidelines’ mission is to provide a renewed sense of purpose for veteran and service members to become character-based sports coaches who serve their communities.
“When we take the lessons we’ve learned in a uniform to the sidelines and pass them forward, we’re not just building better athletes. We’re building better people,” said Atherton. “Because whether you are in a locker room, on the battlefield, or in the boardroom – the principles of success remain the same.”
During the event, hundreds of individuals joined together to create a powerful ripple effect by raising funds to support soldier coaches.
Atherton stood alongside military leader honoree Major General (Retired) Alfred K. Flowers, Sr., U.S. Air Force and Coaching Leadership honoree Mack Brown, National Champion football coach.
