CareFlite Joins Bell at Innovation and Commercial Team Meeting

CareFlite shares positive feedback on purchase of the Bell 407GXi to support emergency medical services

Every quarter, hundreds of Bell employees gather to collaborate on ground-breaking ideas and emerging technologies during Bell’s Innovation and Commercial Business team meeting. During the most recent meeting, CareFlite representatives took the stage to share how Bell aircraft support their life-saving missions and to highlight their long-established business relationship with Bell.

“Bell has played an important role in providing CareFlite with the ability to quickly and safely transport people while they receive vital medical care,” said Jon Paul Legèr, director of flight operations, CareFlite. “We have a strong working relationship with Bell. Since we started working with Bell, our aircraft have been in service longer, and maintenance services are easily accessible due to Bell’s after-market support.”

During the meeting, the Bell team asked about how they could better support CareFlite’s missions. “When CareFlite shares the need for new or increased capabilities on their Bell aircraft, we work with them to create and implement solutions that meet their needs and exceed their expectations,” said Michael Thacker, executive vice president, Bell. “We are also fully committed to providing customer-focused aftermarket support that best serves our customers’ unique needs.”

For over 30 years, CareFlite has been a devoted customer of Bell aircraft by owning six Bell 407s and two Bell 429s for its Helicopter Air Ambulance (HAA) fleet. Operating out of various large-scale hospitals such as Baylor Scott & White, Texas Health Resources, Methodist Health System, Parkland Hospital, and JPS Health Network, CareFlite is the only integrated medical transport company in North Texas and responds to calls from hospitals, law enforcement agencies and EMS units in more than 100 counties. Since 1979, CareFlite’s 700-person EMS team has transported over 1.15 million patients by air and ground for emergency medical services with the help of Bell aircraft.

In April, CareFlite added a Bell 407GXi to its air ambulance fleet. Pilots can use its IFR-certified configuration kit and high-tech displays to easily navigate between narrow hospital structures and in challenging weather conditions. The spacious and customizable cabin is designed to accommodate medical equipment, enabling EMS professionals to provide life-saving treatment to patients in flight.
